DAN'S STYLE & APPROACH
Dan began his career in accounting and has spent the last 25 years advising in the HR and employee benefits space. As the only Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in the local market specializing in group benefits, he uniquely bridges HR and Finance discussions. He works with senior leadership to develop benefits strategies which address growing financial complexity and align with broader workforce and business goals.
In a 2025 survey of Dan’s clients, the words most frequently used to describe their experience working with him and the ZLC Employee Benefits Solutions team were: responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and friendly.

Dan works with clients in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario to develop strategic and affordable employee benefits plans which are sustainable in the long term and relevant to employees and therefore relevant to the business strategies.
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT DAN
Dan has been very active in the community and is a past Chair of the Board of St. Thomas More Collegiate. He is a past President of the Alzheimer Society of BC and a past director of the Alzheimer Society of Canada. In 2003 he received the H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee Award for public service in Canada, in 2006 he was recognized with a Community Service Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, in 2007 he received the Clyde and Lanny Slade Leadership Award from the Alzheimer Society of BC, and in 2025 he was inducted into the St. Thomas More Collegiate Hall of Fame.
Dan also prides himself on maintaining balance between his personal life and work, and he is most passionate about spending quality time with his family in Whistler or at their cabin on Sheridan Lake.
